How Anoniversity Works

Verified anonymous social, from sign-up to safety

Three steps. No real name. No student ID. No profile photo. Just your school email, once, to verify you're a real student, then everything else is anonymous.

1

Sign up with your school email

Go to anoniversity.vercel.app and enter your official school email address. Anoniversity only accepts email addresses from the following domains:

  • @ateneo.edu — Ateneo de Manila University
  • @up.edu.ph — University of the Philippines
  • @dlsu.edu.ph — De La Salle University
  • @ust.edu.ph — University of Santo Tomas

We send a one-time magic link to your inbox. Click it to verify. No password is ever created or stored.

2

Verify once, stay anonymous forever

Clicking the magic link verifies that you are a real student at one of the Big 4 universities. This is your one-time verification step. After this:

  • • Your email address is never shown to other users, not in posts, not in chats, not anywhere.
  • • You are assigned a random anonymous username (e.g., "QuietDragon42") and an avatar color.
  • • You can choose whether to show or hide your school badge.
  • • The platform privately retains your verified school for moderation purposes only.
3

Complete onboarding

Before you post for the first time, you complete a short onboarding:

  • • Review and accept the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Community Guidelines.
  • • Optionally set a custom anonymous username and choose whether to show your school tag.

That's it. You are now a verified member of the Anoniversity community.

What you can do on Anoniversity

Big 4 Feed

Browse posts from verified students across all four schools in one unified feed. Filter by school or category: Rant, Confession, Acads, Chismis, Org Life, and 7 more.

School Walls

Every school has its own wall where students from that university post exclusively. You can view posts from any school wall, but you post to your own school's wall.

Campus Match

Connect with another verified student based on school and shared interest tags (Acads, Relationships, Org Life, etc.). Campus Match is opt-in and moderated, not a random stranger-chat service.

Moderated Chat

Once matched, you enter a private chat session using only your anonymous username. You can leave at any time. Sessions are subject to moderation if reported, and you can report or block your match immediately.

Report and Block

You can report any post, comment, chat message, or user at any time. You can also block users you have matched with so they are never matched with you again. All reports are reviewed by moderators.

The Anonymity Model

Anoniversity uses a "publicly anonymous, privately verified" model.

What other users see

  • • Your anonymous username
  • • Your school badge (if enabled)
  • • Your posts and comments
  • • Your avatar color

What other users NEVER see

  • • Your school email address
  • • Your real name
  • • Your student ID
  • • Any identifying information

Safety and Moderation

Anoniversity has multiple layers of protection to keep the community safe:

  • Automated keyword filters: content containing known harmful phrases is automatically flagged or blocked before it appears.
  • Trust score system: every account starts with a score of 50. Violations reduce it; good standing increases it over time. Low-trust accounts face additional posting restrictions.
  • Human moderation: reports submitted by users are reviewed by real moderators who can remove content, issue warnings, reduce trust scores, or ban accounts.
  • Ban appeals: if your account is banned, you may submit one appeal for review. Appeals are handled by administrators.
  • Block system: blocking a user prevents future matches with them.

What Is Not Allowed

The following content is strictly prohibited and will result in moderation action:

  • • Harassment, bullying, or targeted attacks on any person or group
  • • Sexual or explicit content of any kind
  • • Sexual content involving minors: zero tolerance, immediately escalated
  • • Hate speech based on race, religion, gender, orientation, nationality, or disability
  • • Doxxing, sharing, or attempting to reveal anyone's real identity
  • • Threats of violence or self-harm
  • • Spam, scams, phishing, or impersonation
  • • Circumventing a ban by creating a new account

Repeat or severe violations result in permanent bans. See the Community Guidelines for the full policy.

Your Account and Data

You control your account from the Settings page inside the app:

  • • Change your anonymous username (once every 30 days)
  • • Toggle your school badge on or off
  • • Update your bio
  • • Request account deletion, processed within 30 days
  • • Sign out

We do not sell your data. Your school email is never shown to other users. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Publicly anonymous. Privately verified.

That's the Anoniversity promise. You stay anonymous to everyone else. The platform privately knows your verified school, only so that abusive behavior can be investigated and actioned. This mapping is never exposed in the app.
